Mini Morris

Garden Explorers

WORKSHOPS

Thursday 16 July 2026

In July, we’ll be exploring the wonderful world of insects and gardens, inspired by William Morris’s love of nature. He spent a lot of time in his garden, carefully observing flowers, birds and insects, and many of the patterns in Morris’s designs were inspired by the natural world around him.

We’ll begin by heading into Lloyd Park for a bug-hunting adventure, searching for insects and discovering the colours, shapes and patterns that make them unique. Children will then make a colourful creature inspired by their discoveries and the nature‑inspired patterns in William Morris’s work.

Mini Morris sessions are now DROP IN ONLY. FREE. Donations welcome.

As this can be a messy session, please wear or bring old clothes. Aprons are available. All sessions include the craft activity, singing and a snack to take away.

Led by artist educator Lesley Palmer of Scribble & Smudge.
