On Tuesday 30 August, join artist Akiko Usami from Scribble & Smudge for a special Family Day at the Gallery. Inspired by Althea McNish's colour palette and process, we'll be taking a look at McNish's floral designs for textiles and creating colourful tissue paper collage pieces with layering, pattern and motif. We will also be putting acetate over the images to create our own black floral designs in the style of McNish.
Our craft activity is aimed at 6+ but all welcome. There will be toys for under 5s in our Honeysuckle room for families to engage with between sessions or if younger children need to get away (an adult must accompany).
Sessions must be booked in advance. Please ensure that you book a ticket for each member of your group (adult tickets for 16+, child’s tickets for aged 15 and under).
- Craft activity times : 1pm, 1.30pm, 2pm, 2.30pm, 3.00pm, 3.30pm. Each session lasts for 25 mins.
While you’re at the Gallery, we also have a family trail to enjoy. Start by exploring the Gallery and special exhibition with Indigo the Bird. Then follow the trail on an adventure around our garden with Fafnir the Dragon. When you’ve completed it, claim your prize!
