Henry Dearle designed Hyacinth in the early part of the twentieth century. The pattern is typical of Dearle’s style, with clear outlines and the use of an ogee shape to connect the repeat. The size of the repeat is 49.5 x 53.3 cm.
This version was printed in 1968, using original Morris & Co. blocks by the firm Arthur Sanderson & Sons Ltd., who acquired the blocks from Morris & Co. when they closed in 1940. The Sanderson colourway number ‘138620 ‘ is handwriten on the reverse with the price of 122 shillings.
