This is one of a set of silk ‘Desert Doilies’ called ‘Flora’s Retinue’, designed by Walter Crane for the firm John Wilson and Sons, Bond street, London in 1894. Four of the designs (daisy, pink, lily and rose) were illustrated in the Arts and Crafts periodical The Studio: An Illustrated Magazine of Fine and Applied Art 1894: Vol 2, p.28
