This tile featuring clumps of daisies was produced by Morris, Marshall, Faulkener & Co. in the 1870s. Morris bought in already glazed and fired tile blanks from The Netherlands, and the design was painted in enamels by the Firm in London. The tiles were fired in a stained glass kiln, which produced variable results. Later Morris outsourced the painting to the Netherlands too, which produced a more consistent product.
The original design for this is in Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (1990P5).
