From the series of woodcuts for the projected edition of ‘The Earthly Paradise’ c.1865, ‘The Story of Cupid and Psyche’ (probably number 26 in the series). Designed by Edward Burne-Jones, drawn on the block by William Morris and cut by Lucy Faulkner (according to the handwritten inscription on the back). This block was probably a trial attempt and not used.
