This etching depicts the monumental gothic cathedral L’’Eglise a Notre Dame a Eu in Rouen, France. Etched from a drawing by Frank Brangwy. 150 proofs taken. Plate destroyed. 2 impressions only were taken from the first state (trial) which showed lines hung with lanterns running from the central booth to buildings foreground at extreme right and left edges; these were removed in the second (published) state.A watercolour of the same subject, not reversed as in the etching, is illustrated in W.
