This panel was designed by George Jack and was formerly part of an overmantle, flanked by two high-relief plaster panels of ‘The Woodman’ (S44a) and ‘The Bird’s Nest’ (S44c), at number 41, Oakleigh Park, Friern Barnet, one of several houses in the locality by Arthur Keen . It was removed in 1950. A polychrome version of the same design was in the collection of the textile manufacturer James Morton (1867-1943), son of Alexander Morton, the founder of the Scottish textile firm.
