This wallpaper was designed around 1926 by Kathleen Kersey, a member of the Morris & Co. design studio. The overall design is clear and bold, with coloured birds and pomegranate fruit on a plain bright blue background.
This version was printed c.1950 using original Morris & Co. blocks by the firm Arthur Sanderson & Sons Ltd., who acquired the blocks from Morris & Co. when they closed in 1940. A label on the reverse has the Sanderson colourway number ‘Bird and Pomegranate 510’.
