16th century circular brass dish, twisted and gadrooned centre within bands of leaf ornament and inscription; with lobed side, stamped with fleur-de-lys around the rim. The repeating inscription reads: HILF.IHS.XPS.VND.MARIA- meaning ‘Help Jesus Christ and Mary’ in Latin or German. The dish belonged to the Arts and Crafts artist Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo.
