This Morris & Co. sample book dates to around 1913 (the latest pattern is ‘Arbutus’, designed 1913.), before the shop moved to 17 George Street in 1919. It is incomplete with some pages missing. The book is bound in dark green linen and stamped in black on front cover: ‘Morris & Co. Ltd. / 449 Oxford Street / London W. / Wallpapers / These patterns must not be cut. Quote name & number with the order. Large patterns can be had on application’. A label printed in red stuck on front and inside front cover: ‘Papers which are not stocked, and which have to be printed to order are subject to special quotations based on the quantity required, and prices will be furnished on application.
