Opening in April 2025, Morris Mania is a major exhibition that will showcase the remarkable versatility and lasting influence of William Morris’s designs in popular culture.
Morris Mania celebrates the many everyday items decorated with Morris designs and we’re keen to highlight real objects from people’s homes. As we prepare for the exhibition, we now invite you to contribute by donating or lending Morris-patterned items to be featured in the display.
Donate
While Morris’s timeless patterns endure, you may feel it’s time to part with some of your collection. That’s why we’re offering a special opportunity to give these items a final moment in the spotlight.
In keeping with the spirit of reuse and recycling, after the exhibition closes all donated objects will be passed to local charity shops, to support local causes, and so that they can find new homes and avoid landfill.
About your donations
We are looking for any and all items that feature Morris patterns, which may include: homeware (tea towels, table cloths), ceramics, phone cases, souvenirs and clothing.
Larger items such as furniture will also be considered. Please use this form to send details.
While we cannot promise that all items will be featured in the exhibition, we do guarantee that any items submitted or donated will be recycled or gifted to local charity shops once the exhibition concludes.
Lend
We are also interested in objects that may have particular sentimental value, tell a personal story, or are unique and unusual in their own right. If this is the case, we would consider borrowing these items and returning them to you after the exhibition.
If this is of interest, please complete this form.
A loan agreement will be sent if the object is accepted for display.
Packaging & delivery
All items should be packaged appropriately. Objects made from natural fibres must be moth-free and fully wrapped. No sharp objects. If donating, please write ‘Morris Mania’ on the exterior of your package.
Items can be delivered in person or sent to us by post. The Gallery is not able to cover postage fees.
Our address: William Morris Gallery, Forest Road, Walthamstow, London E17 4PP
Items can be delivered in person during Gallery opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm
Acknowledgements
