This wallpaper, originaly designed by William Morris c.1870., was re-printed by Sandersons. Arthur Sanderson & Sons Ltd., acquired Morris & Co.’s original wallpaper printing blocks when they closed in 1940. A diaper is the term given to a diamond or square pattern. In his lecture Some Hints on Pattern Designing Morris said ‘…simple diapers, have been, and doubtless will always be used for external decoration of walls, and also for subsidiary decoration where the scale is large and where historical art plays the chief part.’
