‘Liverpool’ was designed by John Henry Dearle for Morris & Co. in 1905, but never put into production. This is the only known example and may have been a trial piece. According to Linda Parry, who published this sample in her ‘William Morris Textiles’ book (p.267) it is the closest Morris & Co. came to manufacturing a dress silk.
