May Hart Partridge was the married and working name of Gertrude Manly Hart, also known as May Hart. She married Fred Partridge, a metalworker from Devon who worked with the Guild of Handicraft at Chipping Campden. This plaque was probably made in 1911, though according to her daughter it was done while G.M. Hart was a student at Birmingham College of Art, c.1904.
