Domed base on four leaf-shaped feet, all edged with twisted wire work; shaft with spiralling vine and line motif embossed; spherical knop with vine and line decoration; top of shaft and drip-cup with wirework decoration. Designed by Henry Wilson, a leading Arts & Crafts metalworker. Wilson set up his own studio workshops in Kensington, London, circa 1895, and Sevenoaks, Kent in 1902. He was a founding member of the Art Worker’s Guild, and regularly taught at the Central School of Arts and Crafts and at the Royal College of Art.
