The William Morris Gallery has teamed up with Art on the Underground and the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton, to run a creative project for young people this half-term. Led by artist Ania Bas, participants will go behind-the-scenes at the Gallery and the Black Cultural Archives. Using the collections as inspiration, the group will design and create their own newspaper. There will be opportunities to try a variety of hands-on printing and design techniques, work with a professional artist and develop new skills. In 2016 the newspaper will be displayed at both venues and in stations along the Victoria Line.
The project is an opportunity for young people from Waltham Forest and Brixton (the two ends of the Victoria Line) to collaborate and exchange ideas.
Open to young people aged 16-22. Participants must be available for the whole week, 10am-5pm. FREE, all materials and lunch provided.
No previous experience necessary. Booking essential. To sign up or ask a question please email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 020 8496 4390.
